Tuesday, July 11 @ NYC

Our hotel, the Springhill Suites by Marriott, had a very nice breakfast this morning! After breakfast, we finished getting ready for a fun day out.

We spent an awesome day on Ellis and Liberty Islands! Tom knew to reserve tickets to enter the Statue of Liberty, so we were among the fortunate few that were able to enter the Statue. The boys, especially Eric, enjoyed the security that we had to go through to enter the monument because it puffed air, or sniffed, you!

I really enjoyed the museum on Ellis Island, even though we weren't able to track any of our ancestors successfully. I plan to search more on their web site when we return home.

We went back to our hotel to rest and to freshen up. The boys and Tom wanted to take a drive to New York City to get dinner. One of the places Eric wanted to see was the NYSE, so we drove to Wall Street. Tom did a great job of navigating!

We ate pizza at Famiglia, and then walked around Times Square. We shopped at the Hershey store, and enjoyed sharing what we had bought for dessert.

We are planning to take one more trip to NYC before we leave for Hershey, PA, tomorrow.
