Monday, July 10 to New York City

I had a hard time getting going this morning, and my whole body ached from yesterday. Tom took the boys down for breakfast, while I showered and packed. One of the things I dislike about road trips is changing hotels frequently, and having to pack and unpack so often.

The hotel we were leaving had a Starbucks, so on the way out this morning, I had an iced white mocha. It was made differently than our Starbucks at home because it was blended. But it helped me get moving!

Before we left Canada, we stopped at a Home Depot and a grocery store. Then we stopped at a store we had been to yesterday to buy Kevin and Eric a Niagara tee shirt.

Entering back into the U.S. was easy. We did find the Hobby Store, and ALL FOUR of us had fun there. There was a refinished caboose outside, so we went in it.

Kevin found a really neat 3D puzzle; Eric, a kite; and me, a small cross stitch, a few beads, and some ribbon.

We had lunch at Burger King. Now we're driving to New York City. There's light rain, and it's cloudy out.

It's 6 p.m. and the sun is out! We haven't gotten very far yet ... Kevin's needed bathroom stops 2 or 3 times already!

It's 8 p.m. and we've recently passed Scranton, PA. We're going to stop for dinner soon.

The drive has been beautiful today, with lots of hills with trees, and rocky roadsides.

We ate dinner at Friendly's in the Poconos--great food, but slowwww service. It's 10 p.m. Hopefully the drive to our hotel will go quickly!

Very comfy hotel. Especially nice because there is a sofa bed available for Kevin.
We are going to see Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty tomorrow.
