Sunday, July 9 @ Niagara Falls
We all slept well, and woke up around 9 a.m. We showered, and went down to the lobby for a buffet breakfast that included make-your-own waffles and yummy scones!
We were able to check into our next hotel, The DoubleTree, before going to the Falls. They have a Starbucks in the lobby!
After bringing up our luggage, we took a drive by the Falls for a preview. We then left the van at the hotel, and walked to the Falls. What was supposed to be a two-block walk, turned out to be more than a mile each way!
We ate lunch at the restaurant, at Maid of the Mist, before going on the boat.
The boat ride was awesome!!! It was definitely worth the $18 (Canadian) ticket!
Eric probably explored more of the boat than the rest of us. We rode on the bottom deck (Tom's idea). Turned out to be the best view!
The boat went near the American side of the Falls, but what seemed like directly underneath the Canadian Falls! We all had on our blue ponchos so we wouldn't get too wet!
Now we're taking a break/rest in our hotel room, before freshening up for dinner. The boys want to go swimming before bed.
We never made it to the swimming pool, but we had an interesting dinner at Café Tu Tu Tango, and then watched fireworks over Niagara Falls.
The dinner was a blend of different foods that we all shared. My favorite was the Asian salad with ginger dressing--yummy!
The Falls were beautiful at night, and were lit up with different colors. The fireworks were a nice touch, too!
Tomorrow we will have a long drive again, on our way to New York City. I saw an ad, in a magazine in our hotel room, for the largest craft store in the U.S. I'm hoping we can stop at it on our way to NYC!
