Saturday, July 8 to Niagara Falls

Left our house about 1:15 p.m. We are driving the Dodge Grand Caravan.

Left Sue & Bill's about 3:15 p.m.

Tom installed a new hard drive in their computer last night, and finished loading software at their house today. They had a hard drive crash about a week ago.

Stopped at a convenience store/gas station in Michigan because Kevin needed to use the restroom. Tom happened to choose a gas pump that had a broken hose, and doused his left Nike and sock with gasoline! He used his credit card at the pump so he was actually charged 15 cents for the gas on his shoe, and never even got a drop in the tank!

So we had to smell gas all the way into Canada! Tom eventually took his sock and shoe off so he could air them out his car window!

The drive into Canada was initially interesting for the boys. It is their first time visiting Canada, and my second. They had fun looking at all the different road signs in kilometers instead of miles. Most of the drive to London, Ontario, was a straight highway with farm fields. We did see a deer and her three does.

Stopped at Tim Horton's in London, Ontario, for a quick dinner about 8:45 p.m. On to Hamilton, and our hotel.

The drive from Hamilton to our hotel was very pretty. It was curvy and hilly; and because it was dark we could see all the lights from the city as we were driving.

We arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn about 11 p.m. Very nice hotel.

Tomorrow we are planning on riding "The Maid of the Mist" under the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.
